Oh, I don't think any of us do.
I mean I've been working on a single icon for what, an hour? (though granted, it was for animanga_lims and much of that time was spent colouring the entire page, not just the part I ended up using) 68 layers...yup. No life ^^;;

it's only because I use twenty billion colour layers each set to 20% opacity. (though in this case it's also because I use a lot of layer when colouring) ...and I don't place either

I'm too indecisive, so I don't like to flatten layers, I just group them. (http://img530.imageshack.us/my.php?image=layersed8.png) this is what my layer pallet looks like for this icon (sorry for the ugly scribbles, but since it's a LIMS icon...)

The bottom merged group was my base (it looks like I did flatten it after all)
